Dr Cathy Dierckxsens, dermatologist
Catherine Dierckxsens studied medicine and specialised in dermatology at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) where she graduated Magna cum laude.
She obtained an additional degree in aesthetic dermatology: “Actes de dermatologie esthétique : “Règles de l’art et vigilances” at the university of Versailles in France.
She has been working for 17 years, as a consultant, in the department of dermatology of the university hospital ‘UZ Brussel’, first for skin allergies and later for laser and aesthetic dermatology, were she actively participated in the education of trainee dermatologist.
Parallel to her activities at the university hospital she started in 2005 a private practice in Avenue des Nerviens in Brussels. She speaks fluently Dutch, French, English and Italian.
She is a regular speaker at continuing medical education courses in national and international congresses and her particular field of expertise is aesthetic dermatology and laser dermatology .
Dr Michaël Opsomer, dermatologist
Michaël Opsomer specialised in dermatology at the university hospital UZ Brussel.
Next to general dermatology, his particular field of interest is dermatological surgery, for which he has followed several courses and trainings in national and international hospitals.
He still works in the UZ Brussel hospital where he is part of the micrographic surgery team (MOHS surgery), a specific surgical technique mainly used to treat skin cancers.
Melissa T’Sjoen, nurse
Melissa is the medical office assistant. She gives appointments, helps to plan your surgery or other treatments and to ensure a smooth workflow during the consultations.
She assists the dermatologists during surgical procedures or laser treatments and performs certain (laser) treatments herself, under the supervision of Dr Cathy Dierckxsens.
